Tidbit

Make sure to save most of a day, if you are interested in seeing most of the park. There's a lot to see and many places to stop, eat, and take beautiful photos. The Arboretum has shaded pockets of space but is mostly exposed to the elements. Be sure to bring lots of water, snacks, sunblock, sunglasses and a hat. There's a lot of dirt and wet wipes are never a bad thing if you plan to eat less dirt than food.  Wear comfortable shoes for the extensive walking you will do.

*If you're a serious hiker- make sure you get over to Picketpost Mountain. This area has a small passage of the Arizona Trail!! After you get your Arizona Trail photo, take the not-so-easy, non-technical, but sketchy scrammble to the peak and 'check the mail' on the summit.*
