Gilbert: A Community Continuing to Cultivate Food, Family, Fun and Farming

If you’re reading this article under our blog category of travel it’s because you are going to have to travel to get to many of the following we’re about to share. If you’ve found this article under food, well, you’re going to love this one. We’ve got a little something for everyone below.

The Farm at Agritopia  A multi acre urban farm found right in the middle of the busy city of Gilbert located in Arizona. This land, the farm and the surrounding community are the development of one family’s wholehearted devotion of more than 40 years of farming and preserving the not-so-small town of Gilbert’s historic farming reputation in the 48th state. Further strengthening the sustainment of irreplaceable values derived from community, family and farming to which Arizona-born residents believe they’ve always had.

Words from the Farm “Our mission for the farm is to be sustainable, educational, and beautiful, while feeding our community the finest quality, organic produce. In addition to 100+ crops, our sheep, chickens, and honeybees also play an integral role in the ecology of the farm, acting as cultivators, fertilizers, and pollinators.”

The Farm was just the beginning to our euphoric food fest offering the freshest fruits and produce the season can tender. Stop in or call and see what’s on the horizon at The Farm at Agritopia and support the deep-rooted community.

Dillas and Ritas

Dillas are the main course (A hearty version of a quesadilla served in daily varieties including vegetarian). Ritas are the handcrafted fresh fruit juices and teas alternately called Luncharitas (and happen to come in a spectacular 32oz. mason jar that is yours to keep!). Each order is jam-packed with meats and cheese along side a large serving of tortilla chips and salsa.

The Uprooted Kitchen

Vegetarian food locally purchased to create gourmet treats.

Chad and Erin are the passionate people and owners to The Uprooted Kitchen. They’re passionate about health, food, family and community but they quickly caught my eye and stole my heart with our family’s strong bias towards RVs. Chad and Erin apply their passion for health, love for food and value of community by following their dreams and sharing their incredibly delicious, ever-changing vegetarian menu using as many organic and local products as they possibly can along the way.

After finding them on a Wednesday, eating our treats on Thursday, I tracked them down that Saturday for more. Locations: Gilbert Farmers Market & The Farm at Agritopia

Waffle Love AZ

It’s exactly like they say it is. You’ll love their waffles and wide-eyed waffles they are.

They were the last of our food orders and considering the serving sizes we have previously picked up Waffle Love AZ had a lot to live up to. They didn’t disappoint. The waffles are large and filled the entirety of the given to-go box. They aren’t shy with the whip cream and our fruit was perfectly pulled at harvest. Waffle Love has a voluminous variety of crowd-pleasing menu choices and creates an appreciated alternative gluten-free waffle, too. Track ‘em down and take a bite. You’ll be glad you did. 480-404-1066

Each of these trucks provided us with great food and we will definitely be back for the deliciousness, but what I truly enjoyed far more, was the genuinely kind service given across the lot that night. From the Farm Stand to the Live, One-Man Jam to the Food Truck Caravan everyone there was genuinely pleasant and eager to selflessly serve.

Editors Note: You can additionally find several of these vendors at the Gilbert Farmers Market located on 222 N. Ash Drive Gilbert, Az 85234 and held on Saturdays 7-11am.

The Gilbert Farmers Market vendors can change and they have a terrific page to keep you informed -} Gilbert Farmers Market
