Mountain Matron Plans Her Visit To Idaho

We have spent a lot of time talking to you all on Instagram and Facebook about physical preparation for Hell Hike And Raft 2015; the six-day backcountry trip I’m taking through the deepest gorge of North America.

But I haven’t spent a lot of time talking about the amazing people and connections we are making along the way. I have had the great pleasure of virtual interacting with some awesome ladies, Jana and Jen and I’m really looking forward to meeting them both in Idaho for the first time face-to-face.

Another thing I haven’t talked about much is the smorgasbord of information I have had the pleasure of learning while preparing for this epic solo adventure. If you don’t know much about me I’ll start and end with saying I’m an Arizona born and raised city girl, a wife, and mother of 3 with a whole lot to learn about a whole lot of everything.

If you’re really bored you can also read my Hell Hike And Raft 2015 Intro here--} Hell HIke And Raft 2015

I have kept my gear choices semi hush because I have been spending a lot of time gathering, testing and deciding, but I will put a link here once it has been published { Backpacking Gear }

A short recap- I will be heading out solo this summer to join a team of Social Media Influencers in Idaho for a 6-day backcountry trip through the deepest gorge of North America.

 Naturally I’m nervous and those closest to me are probably the most surprised by my acceptance of the invitation to leave the niche of my neighborhood but I’m genuinely excited to experience a place with such historically known landscape, astounding agriculture and vast geological features. {You’ll hear more about that once I return}

I’ve brushed up a little on my knowledge of Idaho with the help of Idaho Tourism, Idaho Trails Association and Americas Rafting Company, but there’s nothing like having the experience first hand.

We’re now on a 45-day countdown and I hope you will follow my radical journey here as well as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

I'm impressed! I am planning a similar trip to Idaho from Ohio. The planning part is not easy because there are so many options, the maps offered by the Tourism office are not too detailed because of the sheer size of Idaho, just makes it challenging trying to decide where to go. I've enjoyed many photos posted by professional photographers & area camera club members! I view their amazing photos then try to plot their location on a map in hopes of catching a similar view, place to hike/camp/kayak/fish/raft.
I will look forward to your future postings and wish you well!

Thank you for your comment! I will absolutely be sharing photos and such in the weeks following my trip but if you want to plan now. Check with Americas Rafting Company (which will be our rafting company in Idaho). They get you safely permitted to several new Idaho backcountry adventures.
