Outdoor Retailer Summer 2016 | #UintasHike16 | Mountain Matron
As I rapidly prepare to leave my home in Arizona to fly to Utah for the Outdoor Retailer summer market tradeshow 2016, I’m also preparing for a preshow backpacking trip through the High Uintas Wilderness. To say the countdown has begun would be a real understatement. The countdown’s buzzer is about to blow and I still need to pack.
With my kids on summer break the last several weeks and, our new school year already having started, you can imagine the constant schedule shift in the recent days. And the fact that I lost track of the number of consecutive days my region has reached 100°F+ we’re moving quite a bit slower than usual.
With all of that going on the hype for the Outdoor Retailer summer market 2016 and #UintasHike16 has still engulfed our team here in Arizona. We’ve all been working diligently behind the scenes to get me there. For a mother of 3, Business owner x2, industry rep, and primary caretaker of our home getting out the door with a solo agenda isn’t always my first option, nor choice. But nothing motivates me more than having the opportunity to join some hardcore industry leaders and learn how I can not only better myself, my industry business, and provide more to my growing global audience, but how I can be the real difference between action and absence in the outdoors.
The Outdoor Retailer is an industry tradeshow held twice a year, once in the winter and once in the summer. Industry professionals are the only entrants permitted during the weeklong show and this summer I made myself familiar with the powerful lineup of events. My cohort Adam with HikingTheTrail.Com and our HHAR 2014 team participants knew it would be the perfect opportunity to compound a preshow backpacking trip before we hit the showroom floor. You don’t have to tell me twice!
With the preshow backpacking trip we have been given an open opportunity to test many new products hitting the market floor. Several brands thought it would be helpful to hear how their products perform in the backcountry of the High Uintas Wilderness and we are all pretty stoked to put those products to the test.
Keep an eye out for our social media blasts by following the tag #UintasHike16 on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. We have some talented, visionary adventurers hitting the Utah trails this weekend and with that I will have some newer lesser-known ground breaking brands, as well as established brands stuffed in our packs.
Don't forget -- we had our 3x3 stickers arrive and we will have them at the Outdoor Retailer events all week!
