U.S Military Coastal Defense Station Fort MacArthur Military Museum ~ Upper Reservation ~

San Pedro’s Angel’s Gate Park ~  Korean Friendship Bell

Korean Friendship Bell

Serenely placed on a vast grassy hill, overlooking the Pacific sits the seventeen-ton Korean crafted Bell of Friendship. This bell is one of the largest in the world, the largest in Korean history and was purposely presented as a significantly kind gesture of friendship to the United States by the Republic of Korea in 1976. The bell is currently housed in a beautifully articulated traditional handcrafted Korean designed stone pavilion that took just under a year to craft. It’s not hard to see why the bell has found itself broadcast on the big screens.

Additionally located in Angel’s Gate Park emerged the Angels Gate Cultural Center, overlooking the Pacific Ocean since 1970, and Point Fermin. Make sure while you’re visiting one, you visit the other and wrap up the trip properly.

Within a short walk of this beautiful bell you can find Fort MacArthur Military Museum.

With a single visit to the port of Los Angeles, you will experience why motion picture broadcast uses one of the best examples of our preserved Coastal Defense Gun Emplacement, a place officially inducted to the National Registry of Historical Places in 1976.

Middle Reservation is owned by United States Air Force

Lower Reservation is the city’s Cabrillo Marina.
